Exercise your faith
What do you believe about Jesus Christ? Does He still heal? Does He care about your life, troubles, and dreams? If you have a big problem, can you ask Him to intervene? I hope that all of your answers are yes, yes, and absolutely yes! Your faith will determine His responses.
The Bible tells the story of two blind men who cried out for a miracle: “When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, ‘Son of David, have mercy on us!’” (Matthew 9:27, NKJV)
I can imagine the clamor and outrage of the religious community. These blind men were beggars and rejects of society. The hypocrites had no time for beggars, especially those they thought were blaspheming by calling Jesus “the Son of David.”
It’s ironic that the blind men could see Jesus as the Messiah, but the people who could physically see did not. Jesus’ response was priceless: “And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, ‘Do you believe that I am able to do this?’ They said to Him, ‘Yes, Lord.’” (Matthew 9:28, NKJV)
I know that Jesus is asking you the same question. It will determine almost everything else about your future. Notice their instantaneous answer was emphatic: “‘Yes, Lord,’ they told Him, ‘we do.’” (Matthew 9:28, NLT)
Jesus then uses a word that we will study for the next two weeks: “kata.” Kata is used over 800 times in the Bible, and it means “according to” or everything comes from something. “Then He touched their eyes, saying, ‘According to your faith let it be to you.’” (Matthew 9:29, NKJV)
In this context, Jesus is saying that their healing would be kata their faith. The word “faith” means our beliefs about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and His truths.
friend, miracles, signs, and wonders come from your beliefs in God, His will, and His power. Do you believe God can heal you, help you, save you, and empower you? Then He says He will. Isn’t that kind of crazy? God has all the power and will to change our lives, but we need to believe that He will. In other words, miracles kata your faith.
Maybe it’s time for you to exercise your faith and watch the world change. You can do it because you are a miracle. And I have faith in a good God.
