Find your hustle
I met a man yesterday who really inspired me. His name is Jonathan. I hired him to move a few things to an investment property. I noticed something different about him as he drove up in a big white truck with two American flags flying majestically overhead and a large trailer in tow. He was dynamic, charismatic, and full of life as he told me about his hustle. Hustle is a term used in the United States that has a few meanings:
- Hustle can mean making an extreme effort in sports. I’ve heard my coaches scream at me on so many occasions, “Goulet, hustle!” with a few more colorful adjectives that I can’t repeat.
- Hustle can also mean the habit of finding an unorthodox solution to a business dilemma or selling a product.
- Hustle can also have a more negative connotation. It’s often used for the unlawful or questionable activities people do on the mean streets of large cities.
friend, have you found your good hustle in this season of COVID-19 chaos? The Bible says, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” (Colossians 3:17, NIV) and also, “in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37, NIV)
Jonathan hustled in the most positive sense of the word. He found a way to prosper and start new companies during the lockdowns. He inspired me and made me want to work on my own hustle even more.
friend, find your hustle during your most difficult season and watch the Lord meet you there. You will find more diamonds because you are a miracle!
