Give it your max
My friend John Maxwell is an amazing man. He’ll celebrate his 75th birthday this year, but he’s still living like he’s 45, living his life to the max.
Do you give your max every day? The Bible says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” (Colossians 3:23, NIV)
It doesn’t say to play it safe or retire early to sit on a couch and watch reruns of Cheers. Don’t get me wrong...I like to rest, watch a little TV, and go to the movies sometimes. I recently started playing golf again after a five-year hiatus. Some of you know that I almost died five years ago. It wiped me out in a big way, but I’ve been regaining my health and doing a few exciting activities. I bike, kayak, mountain climb, and ski. Hallelujah! God healed me. I had to work hard to partner with God in this miracle with exercise, rest, healthy eating, and super antioxidant smoothies.
friend, I try to live my life to the max, just like my mentor John Maxwell.
John’s team just shared a few important steps that he’s recently taken to increase his influence, train leaders worldwide, win souls, and impact children with a values-driven curriculum in public schools. It seems to me that he’s leveraging all his popularity and success for the good of others. In other words, he’s sprinting across the finish line of life. Wow!
Let’s face it—we’re all going to leave this planet one day. But will we leave it better, more beautiful, healthier, more just, and with more love?
friend, will you live life to the max by loving and serving others? Or will you crawl across the finish line with a pocket full of cash and a few regrets? I intend to give myself and everything I have away for the glory of God and for the love of people. Will you join me in living and giving to the max?
I know that you can because you are a miracle. And God is helping you!
