God’s grace for divine assignments
There is an incredible story in the Bible about a man named Moses. He had suffered years of personal failure and fear. His self-esteem was at an all-time low when he saw a burning bush. Can you imagine the thoughts and feelings that went through his mind? Some theologians think that he was about 80 years old. Maybe he questioned his eyesight or thought he was hallucinating. The desert can sure play tricks on your mind, but this bush was a stoplight from God. God had a plan to deliver His people, and He needed a deliverer. Moses seemed like an unlikely candidate, but God saw something in him. Moses was someone He could use.
The Bible reveals a few key elements in this encounter: “Then Moses said to the LORD, ‘See, You say to me, “Bring up this people.” But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, “I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.”’” (Exodus 33:12, NKJV)
I’m sharing these words because God is seeking to pour out His grace upon you. The world is in crisis, and God is calling those who will say yes and bring deliverance by His grace. I’d like to underline a few important truths that you can apply to your own life and calling. Notice that:
- Moses heard a voice say, “Bring up this people.” God wants to speak a divine assignment to you.
- Moses had questions about this massive assignment. “Whom will You send with me?” friend, you will have questions as well, and that’s okay.
- God knew Moses by name. God also knows your name. I’ve included the song entitled “He Knows My Name” by Tommy Walker. It will probably make you cry.
- Moses found favor in God’s sight. friend, I believe that you, too, have found favor in God’s sight. That favor can propel you to great opportunities and a grace-filled life that will powerfully impact others.
You are a miracle, and God has a plan for your life. And I love you, too.
