Happy New Year!
Do you mean it when you say “Happy New Year”? Is it just an old traditional greeting, or can it become a powerful declaration? Do you believe your words have power? I do. I believe a simple greeting like “Happy New Year” can become a powerful blessing.
The Bible reveals a significant power in verbal declarations: “You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways” (Job 22:28, NKJV).
So, a simple greeting combined with faith and love can produce big results. I’ve seen the desperation in people’s eyes. The world is discouraged by the lockdowns and the loss of our freedoms.
It reminds me of the world that Gideon grew up in. The Bible tells us, “Because the power of Midian was so oppressive, the Israelites prepared shelters for themselves in mountain clefts, caves, and strongholds.” (Judges 6:2, NIV) They had no weapons, no confidence, and they lived in fear of their enemies.
But Gideon was different. The Bible reveals that “The angel of the Lord came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites” (Judges 6:11, NIV).
While everyone else hid in caves, Gideon did something about it. He was trying to make a living while everyone was preparing for the worst.
God saw Gideon’s courage and decided that he was the best one to lead his nation to victory. “When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, ‘The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.’” (Judges 6:12, NIV)
It will take courage to declare good things in the new year. It will take faith to bless someone and mean it. We need more Gideons in our world right now. Lead the way with your words and actions. Inspire others with your good report, fresh ideas, and a new way of living.
We’ve discovered how easy it is for our lives to be snatched from us. Whether it’s the virus or the governmental precautions and measures that have been taken, it all hurts, and I’m speaking a blessing over you right now.
friend, may you have a much happier new year, and may 2021 be so amazing for you, your family, and your business.
Because you are a miracle, and I really love you.
