Has someone hurt you?

For years, I could say with gratitude that I was able to live my ministry without major criticism. That is truly wonderful!

But you know, friend, and maybe you are experiencing it right now too: The greater the blessing, the greater the battles become. That's not surprising, because when something grows, more people with wounds follow, automatically more opinions, more jealousy. And someone will always use social media as their personal outlet.

As I share this with you, I've had a few intense days. Criticism through various channels, like under a video where someone started with, "Seems like acting class. Authenticity is better." And that was just the beginning because then came comments, also from others, some of which they retracted themselves because they were really below the belt.

And friend, these responses came, I have to say, from Christians. Often, we are disappointed by our own people. And because I'm sure you know that too, I want to remind you of the truth today:

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (Ephesians 6:12 NIV

friend, these people are not evil, but the one who animates them is! You can even continue to love the people who are against you! You know, the Bible is very challenging in that regard: "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you!" (Matthew 5:44 NIV)

You may be thinking, "Yes, but Deborah, that takes twice as much strength. Once for these battles and insults, and then I have to love these people on top of it? That's really asking a lot."

Even with that, God doesn't leave you alone, friend. God’s Word says: "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people." (Ephesians 6:18 NIV)

friend, you don't have to deal with these thoughts alone. Seek His presence—especially when something like this happens—and experience how He equips you with His strength, His power, and His love!

Become strong in Him, and your negative thoughts will flee!

You are a miracle!
