Hidden prophecies about grace
Do you know that there are hidden prophecies about grace and its powers? The Bible says, “‘And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.’” (Zechariah 12:10, NKJV)
Zechariah lived in Israel 70 years after the Jews returned from captivity under the rule of King Darius, #alongtimeago. He was a real prophet. Even though Zechariah lived in a tough time, he was able to see into the future. These are the things he saw:
- The Spirit of grace and prayer on the house of David and its inhabitants. There is already a hint that this refers to Jesus, the Son of David.
- The suffering Messiah is then identified with extraordinary clarity. The Messiah would come with the Spirit of grace and be crucified. friend, grace is available to you because of Jesus Christ. This ancient prophecy reveals the connection between the crucified One and grace.
- Extraordinarily, Jesus is referred to as “His only son” and “firstborn.”
How could Zechariah see all these things one thousand years before they occurred? The Spirit of grace! What does this vision prove to us? Grace is good, and it comes from Jesus, the only Son of God and the firstborn of all creation: “And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.” (Colossians 1:18, NKJV)
friend, grace has found me on my knees and on my face. I don’t deserve it, but grace has crowned me with blessings greater than I could imagine and success far beyond my abilities.
