How much longer?

Publication date Nov 21, 2024

“Ugh, this is so annoying. Another rainy day!” I overheard a passerby complaining about what was probably the 20th rainy day in a row.

Do you know what’s crazy, friend? I hadn’t been upset about it for even a single second – and this, even though it had been spring for a while on the calendar and I had never experienced such a bad spring before.

But I was full of all the good things God was doing right then! Or rather, all the good things I was able to do and experience – despite everything! Sure, not everything was possible, like usual. But does everything always have to be like we expect it to be?

Can I ask you a question today in this context, friend? Why do we expect everything to stay the same when, deep down, we long for change?

Let me ask again: “Does everything really have to stay the same?” Or, put differently: “What if, even on the 21st rainy day, you just trusted God, believing that He knows what He’s doing? Maybe everything IS the way it IS because that’s how it’s MEANT TO BE.

In the Psalms, we read: “Both day and night belong to you; you made the starlight and the sun. You set the boundaries of the earth, and you made both summer and winter.” (Psalm 74:16-17 NLT

And in Isaiah 45: “I am the Lord, and there is no other. I create the light and make the darkness… I, the Lord, do all these things. Open up, O heavens, and pour out your righteousness. Let the earth open wide so salvation and righteousness can sprout up together. I, the Lord, created them.” (from Isaiah 45:6-8 NLT

God decided how the world would be created, and God decides how it will continue. friend, God decided how you were created, and He also lovingly decides how your life will continue.

We don’t need to understand God’s ways first – we can simply keep going in faith (and with joyful anticipation)! Because we know that God has good plans for us! (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)

Yes, friend, with this knowledge, you can maintain a good attitude even in bad weather!

Maybe you’re experiencing stormy weather in your personal life right now. Will you decide today to trust the One who created you and your life, even through this storm, friend?

You are a miracle!
