Don't let anyone tell you that!

friend; if I had built my life on feelings and thoughts…Help! I don't know where I would be today! Or, if I built my future on my thoughts and feelings, that would definitely be a disaster!"

My thoughts are not always good. You'll probably know this from your own life, too. What are God's thoughts about you?

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

May I ask you a question then, friend? Why do you give so much weight to your own thoughts, and not to the words of God that He speaks to you personally?

friend, there have been several periods in life when I thought I had lost everything, not least in 2017, when I even put my job on the back burner for a planned wedding. When my fiance then left me—to celebrate his engagement to a younger woman—(yes, I know this pain too), he left me not only with a broken heart, but a severe depression. This conscious look at all I had lost, from the dream of marriage, to my music, my job, and my friends, made everything worse.

If I had continued to concentrate on that, I would have completely perished, but I decided—late, but still in time, with my last strength—to give God's words more weight than my own thoughts! He said He would give me a future and hope again!

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” (Proverbs 4:23 NIV

friend, sometimes putting this verse into practice feels like high performance sports, but I can tell you, like after any athletic activity, it feels so good afterwards!

Start today giving God's promise of the future and hope more weight again than your own words, even if you feel like it's too late. Too late is still in time for God!

You are a miracle!
