It’s time to ‘resolve it in your heart’, 💓

"Daniel resolved in his heart." I could read this sentence in my Bible over and over again: "Daniel resolved in his heart."

It's just one sentence, nothing more, and yet there's so much in these few words! The verse in the New International Version says, "But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.” (Daniel 1:8 NIV

And do you know why this verse catches my eye so much, friend?

Because I am a very sensitive person. It's important to me to be there for everyone. It's important to me to be fair to everyone and everything. It's important to me not to disappoint. You may be similar to me in that regard, friend.

For example, I find it incredibly challenging that I can't respond to every wonderful and moving email I receive simply because there are so many.

That stressed me out for years, friend. Until I stumbled upon these five words: "Daniel resolved in his heart"... and I understood.

The truth is:

“…The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”" (1 Samuel 16:7 NIV

And in my heart is a great love for people, even if I can't respond to everyone. God sees that. He knows that. And that's enough. He knows. Period.

And so I resolved in my heart (and I have to keep resolving it): I accept that I can't be everything to everyone and I won't allow the resulting thought-stress anymore. Because God sees my heart. And here, He finds the love He desires.

friend, resolving something in your heart like this, frees you!

Deciding something in your heart means closing a door to lies and experiencing freedom!

What should you firmly decide, friend,?

What should you resolve in your heart, in order to experience freedom?

You are a miracle!
