Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!
Yesterday, we heard about the complications that can occur in life—complications that also affected Mary and Joseph. And we know that, thank God, despite everything, they didn’t give up. Today, we want to learn even more from them…
“Enough is enough. I wanted to marry Mary, and now she’s pregnant and telling me about an angel!” Joseph might have said this. But he didn’t. Because he himself had an encounter with an angel!
And even now he might have said, “I feel pretty fooled.” Don’t forget, friend, something unprecedented was happening here! We know the Christmas story inside and out. But back then, it was something completely unexpected, unsettling, and incredible!
And Joseph didn’t let himself be stopped—despite how unexpected, unsettling, and incredible it was—by his own feelings or by people’s opinions. He trusted in the miracle, even without seeing it yet!
And Joseph made an important decision IN THE MIDST of his doubts: “Joseph did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. He gave Him the name Jesus.” (Matthew 1:24-25 NLT)
I love this verse. So simple and yet so clear. “He did what the angel had commanded him.” He didn’t do what his thoughts wanted to lead him to do. He didn’t do what would have been normal. He did something unexpected that surely unsettled him but ultimately allowed him to experience the incredible!
And he gave this Baby—the miracle in the making—the name Jesus! Wow!How wonderful it would be if we could give our “miracle in the making” the name Jesus!
Do you wish for healing? Speak the name Jesus over your illness! Is your relationship on the rocks? Speak the name Jesus into your relationship! Are the pre-Christmas days disappointing you? Speak the true reason for this celebration aloud: “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!”
friend, there is so much power in the name of Jesus!
Because Jesus Himself grew into the greatest miracle, you can trust that your miracle will grow when your wound hears His name!
“Whatever you ask in My name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask Me for anything in My name, and I will do it.” (John 14:13-14 NLT)
Amen. Amen. Amen.
You are a miracle!
