Let it go!
God talks about peace. I experience unrest. Do you relate to this statement, friend?
When I'm restless because I look at my calendar and find way too many appointments here, but someone offers to take some of the appointments off my hands, then I breathe a sigh of relief and say, "Phew, Thank you! That unexpectedly gives me peace."
You would surely be at peace too if Jesus were standing in front of you and saying, "My child, none of this should trouble you. I'll take care of it," right?
And now here's the kicker. He has already spoken this to you, friend. Yes, really. He said to you, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27 NIV)
Now imagine someone offering to take something off your plate. That only works, or you only experience the resulting peace, if you truly let go of that appointment, or whatever it may be. COMPLETELY LET GO.
Even with friends who want to help us, we tend to interfere and check if the task has been done right... But:
Peace means LETTING GO and not continuing to do it yourself.
When Jesus offers to bless you with His peace while you give Him your worries and fears, then it's the same principle. You'll experience this peace only when you've completely let go of the worry. Completely...
Jesus says, "If you have faith and do not doubt... if you pray and ask for something in faith, you will receive it, no matter what it is." (Matthew 21:21-22 NIV)
Finding peace means believing and letting go. And continuing to trust in God's help.
God wants to give you this peace. Amidst your current unrest. Can you let go? Will you let go today, friend?
You are a miracle!
