Love one another

Publication date Oct 22, 2021

Life can be really complicated, especially with the political turmoil, wars, corruption, inflation, incompetence, and a virus. Wow! Life can make your head spin if you don’t have a strong relationship with the Holy Spirit.

friend, how are you doing? We have a large prayer team praying for you right now. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with a prayer request. We are becoming a family, and families love at all times. In fact, the Bible says, “And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another. This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.” (2 John 1:5-6, NKJV)

Notice that John the Apostle reminded us to:

  1. “Love one another.” It’s a commandment.
  2. Walk “according to” the commandment.

friend, it’s the second rule of life. The first rule is to love God, and the second one is to love others. No wonder the world is so messed up right now. Few people love God, and few love others. The Bible admonishes us, saying, “‘“And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” This is the first commandment.’” (Mark 12:30, NKJV)

Can you and I get back to drawing from God, the source of love? It won’t be easy because the media is focused on the negative, the absurd, and exaggerations. Chaos seems to be its favorite theme. But my perspective of America is pretty amazing; I love my country. I’m proud of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. In fact, I celebrate the Judeo-Christian foundation of America and many other nations around the world.

Although many don’t agree with me, I love them and treat them with respect. I have no other choice as a Christian: “‘But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.’” (Matthew 5:44, NKJV) I love Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, and Communists. Differences should not stop us from “speaking the truth in love…” so that “we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of Him who is the head, that is, Christ.” (Ephesians 4:15, NIV) Someone once said, “The truth sets you free, but first it might make you really mad.”

friend, we can choose to forgive all those who have hurt us or others. We can repent of bitterness in our hearts and replace it with the greatest commandment. Love God and love others because you are a miracle. And I love you more than a nice sailboat.
