Paul was a game changer

Publication date Apr 16, 2021

The Apostle Paul had an unlikely path to success as a game changer. He was a Pharisee who persecuted Christians from Jerusalem to Antioch. He was relentless in his zeal against a sect of believers in Jesus the Messiah.

After the resurrection, Christianity started growing like crazy. The resurrected Jesus spent over 40 days preparing an army of evangelists, prophets, pastors, and leaders to change Israel. Miracles were flying left and right. Jews were coming to the Messiah by the thousands. Then the day of Pentecost energized the believers further with Holy Spirit power: “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” (Acts 2:4, NIV)

friend, have you ever received the baptism of the Holy Spirit? Have you ever made a ton of mistakes like Paul? Have you ever been forgiven? Good! Then you are just like me, Paul, and so many others who have overcome difficult mistakes, sins, and traumas to become game changers in careers, families, and life.

I used to feel so guilty for my mistakes and sins. But then I got ahold of grace, and grace got ahold of me. Grace set me free from guilt and condemnation. Paul became a game changer because he, too, was freed from all his failures: “But for that very reason, I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.” (1 Timothy 1:16, NIV) Paul overcame his weaknesses: “But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9, NIV)

friend, can you imagine boasting about your weaknesses? That’s counterintuitive, isn’t it? Most people I’ve met in business and ministry hide their weaknesses. Paul became a game changer because he had a testimony of victory. He was guilty of so much but forgiven for it all.

I want you to become a game changer as well. You can change families, businesses, and communities. But first, you must be free: free from insecurity, people pleasing, and shame. Be loud and proud of a God who is personal, forgiving, and empowering.

You are a game-changing miracle!
