Should you do the same?

"Why have all the neighbors already put out their trash bins? Tomorrow is only Friday, and the notice from the waste collection service says the trash will be picked up on Saturday."

When I noticed that I was actually the only one who hadn’t put out the trash yet, I was briefly confused: "Should I follow what others are doing or trust the notice?"

friend, you should ALWAYS trust the notice, the scripture, the Bible that you’ve received personally from God. ABOVE all and BEYOND all. Even if others are doing something different, stick closely to God’s written truth!

That’s what Noah did when God asked him to build the ark. It says: "Noah did everything just as God commanded him." (Genesis 6:22 NLT). And that, even though others laughed at him.

Do you know what God says about the others, friend? "The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become.They continually give in to evil." (Genesis 6:5 NLT). And so, this happened: Only "Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. (For) he lived a righteous life and listened to Him." (Genesis 6:8-9 NLT) 

This is a dramatic example, friend, because the story ends with only Noah and his family surviving. Because he didn’t do what the others did, but instead did what God expected of him.

friend, in my case, my neighbors’ trash bins were still sitting at the curb the next day, unemptied. Because they either missed the notice or didn’t want to read it in the first place.

And when you have questions, life questions, don’t approach them like the others, but start with the Word of God.

Because in His Word, you’ll find EVERY answer! Not the answer of the others, friend, but HIS answer.
