Step into action!
Ah, what woman doesn't love to receive flowers? I was delighted the day the delivery service brought me a beautiful bouquet of red roses!
Curious, I opened the envelope of the enclosed card, and suddenly that uneasy gut feeling from the last few days returned. The bouquet was from the man who wanted to make this new job possible for me. There was actually nothing bad about it because I'd gotten sick and the card sweetly said, "Get well soon."
Still, I knew I had to bring my disquieted thoughts into the light right away before they subtly remained in the background and would surface years later, so I shared them with my best friend, who immediately told me to respond to this man plainly.
"My son, do not forget My law, but let your heart keep My commands; for length of days and long life and peace they will add to you." (Proverbs 3:1-2, NKJV)
Nervously, I called the man, reached his voicemail, and then left a plain message. friend, I never imagined that my springing into action would become the catalyst for finally receiving an answer to my restlessness: the truth! "'And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.'" (John 8:32, NKJV) The truth arrived in the form of an email stating the true ulterior motives behind the job offer. I won't go into detail, but this much I'll say: the job could've cost me everything God had intended for me!
Be careful not to get rich at the expense of your freedom! friend, temptations lurk around every corner, no matter who you are or what you do. Once you decide to live for Jesus, you'll have influence, and the devil will continue to challenge your commitment to Jesus. So it's all the more important that you implement the wisdom and steps God gives you—because as you see, they can save you from a big disaster!
Please protect yourself and consider whether you, too, might need to take action in a particular circumstance. friend, never forget that YOU make a difference, and YOU are so valuable!
You are a miracle!
