The Holy Spirit wants to use you in powerful ways

Publication date Sep 10, 2021

Did you know the gifts of the Spirit are supposed to flow through you in every school, business, science lab, sports arena, and community? The Holy Spirit wants to move outside the walls of every sanctuary as well as in the church. Sunday should fill you up with the Holy Spirit, equip you in the Word, and help you build a strong Christian network of friends. The manifestation of the Spirit should flow through you all week long.

Yesterday, I told you about the boxers who started coming to ICLV. It’s been amazing to get to know these awesome individuals. The Bible says, “‘Ask Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.’” (Psalms 2:8, NIV) God wants to help us reach boxers, scientists, salespeople, CEOs, managers, moms, dads, kids, and the whole world. God wants us to ask and be empowered to reach them.

The past few weeks have been so incredible at ICLV. After I preached, a few from the boxing community accepted Christ as Savior and Lord. Hallelujah! I was so moved that I left the platform to speak with them and pray. Josh Taylor had a big fight coming, so I grabbed his hands and began to pray for the Holy Spirit to fill him. As I closed my eyes, I saw the fight in my mind. I saw the power of God fill him anew in the middle rounds. His hands looked like granite. I promised to support him in prayer.

Hughie later invited me to the fight, and I was able to support him from ringside. Do you know what happened? Josh was behind on the scorecards until the sixth round when everything shifted. He knocked his opponent down twice and won the fight. Josh made history by being the first Scot to win all four of the belts in a weight division. The victory was so sweet, but the next few moments blew me away. We were invited into the changing room after the fight to celebrate. What an honor! I was asked to give him a Bible, and he hugged me for a moment and whispered in my ear: “I felt the power.” Hallelujah!

friend, God loves people. He wants to use you in beautiful and powerful ways because you are a miracle.
