The Kingdom of God

Publication date Jul 13, 2021

Did you know that Jesus had a favorite subject? It wasn’t angels, the law, or the supernatural. Jesus loved to talk about His home. He called it the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven. It was, in fact, the home of His Father.

Jesus taught us one specific prayer during His earthly life that completely demonstrates the importance of the Kingdom of God: “‘This, then, is how you should pray: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”’” (Matthew 6:9-10, NIV)

Wow, what an amazing prayer, friend. Jesus started His prayer like a letter or an email. Please allow me to paraphrase this text: “Dear Heavenly Father, residing in heaven, You are so awesome. Please overthrow the leadership of this world with Your leadership.” This prayer is radical and revolutionary because He wanted the Kingdom of God to take over the kingdom of this world.

I can really relate to this story because I was born in Canada but spent a few years in Europe and many in the U.S. I loved Canada. I love maple syrup, French toast, Montreal, French fries with vinegar, and so much more. When I moved to Belgium at the age of 13, I had a very rough time. The culture was so different. The food was different, and I missed my Canadian way of life.

friend, have you ever left your native city or country? What did you miss?

Jesus missed heaven, and He wanted to bring heaven to Earth. So He healed bodies, fed the hungry, and loved people. Jesus brought heaven to Earth, and so can you.

friend, I encourage you to jump on the new growth track. We will be studying kingdom principles to grow. Can you imagine bringing the Kingdom of God to our broken world? Now that’s real growth. Don’t forget the free chapter of my book The Keys of the Kingdom. If you love it, you can order the book and even start a Bible study in your office or home.

Jesus believes in you, and He believes in the local church. He wants you to be an ambassador for heaven and to bring the culture of heaven to Earth in both big and small ways. “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” (2 Corinthians 5:20, NIV)

You are Christ’s ambassador, and you are a miracle.
