The One Who Changes Everything
"You just have to trust in God, friend!"
How many times have you heard that and thought, "I'd like to, but...!"
friend, I wish I could do it just like that, but it's not that simple. If I didn't trust "the One," I would be a completely different person. If I didn't trust "the One," I wouldn't be the role model I am today—thanks to God. If I didn't trust "the One," you would perceive me as a totally different person...
Before I tell you about it, let's dive briefly into the Old Testament, into Jehoshaphat’s moment of great challenge. On the morning of his major battle against three armies, he commanded his people:
"Listen to me, Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: Put your trust in the Lord your God and you will endure. Put your trust in His prophets, and succeed." (2 Chronicles 20:20 NASB2020)
And further: "After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to the Lord , for his love endures forever." (2 Chronicles 20:21 NIV)
And do you know what happened next, friend? "As they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated. The Ammonites and Moabites rose up against the men from Mount Seir to destroy and annihilate them. After they finished slaughtering the men from Seir, they helped to destroy one another.." (2 Chronicles 20:22-23)
Seriously now, "Who would have expected that?" And what exactly triggered God's action, friend? “The One.” The praise and worship of God.
Send not your doubts but your voice of worship into the battle—and experience your victory!
friend, even as a singer, I don't always feel like worshiping God at the push of a button. Most of the time, it's a battle against apathy. Especially when I'm going through a fight. But exactly then, precisely then, my worship and praise are so crucial!
If you go on your knees in worship during your battle, you'll experience your very own victories!
Why not start today with "the One," worshiping God as you begin your day and trust in Him:
Yes, "Praise the Lord, for His mercy never ends!" (2 Chronicles 20:21 NIV) Amen!
You are a miracle!
