The Star of Hope!
I don’t know about you, but I love the approach of Christmas! From the special church services to the beautiful songs, the unique anticipation in the air, the sparkling eyes of children and the lovely decorations.
Speaking of decorations, do you have a Christmas tree in your home? Most likely, you’ll see a star at the top of that tree. But have you ever wondered why that is?
In Matthew, we read the story behind it: “After the king had given them instructions, the Magi set out. And the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.” (Matthew 2:9-11 NIV)
The star was a guide. It shone so brightly and clearly that finding Jesus was easy!
friend, this makes me think. What shines so brightly and clearly over my life, over your life, that others can easily see where hope, where Jesus, is to be found?
If there had been many stars shining next to each other, it would have been confusing. It’s the same kind of confusion that happens when you believe in Jesus a little bit, but also believe in other things, or when you’re just distracted by other priorities in your life…
Let the truth shine brightly and clearly so that you can show others the way to the Savior of the world!
friend, I believe that more than ever, we are called to be guides to the Savior of the world. And this is how you can honor Him today—by clearing away anything that might obscure the view of Him.
You are the star that is needed today. Shine, so that those around you will also believe in the Savior!
You are a miracle!
