The Word is near you, friend!
One young woman once told me something I'll never forget: "Everything you're saying sounds great! But when I'm alone, I hear this voice telling me I'm not worth it, and then it pushes me to do things that are bad for me."
Do you ever hear that same lying voice telling you that you're worthless—and wonder why you can't hear God's voice that clearly? After all, you may think, wouldn't it be so much easier if He just spoke to us audibly?
While you may not hear an audible voice in your ears, the Bible tells us that "...'The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart'..." (Romans 10:8, NKJV). I find this truth very exciting because it means that we as believers have already received God's words. We have already heard Him…we just have to believe it!
friend, that's why it's so important that we invest time in reading the Bible for ourselves! :-) Here are a few other wonderful reasons:
God speaks to us personally through His Word and wants to change our lives for the better. "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16, NIV)
When the Word of God is in your heart, when you memorize it and recite it to yourself over and over, you'll find that God will use it to speak directly into your life! (see Deuteronomy 30:14 and Psalm 119:11)
Through diving into the Word of God, you spend quality time with God. And you WILL hear His voice…there's a reason it's called the Word of God! :-) His words will jump off the page, and He'll speak directly to you, more clearly and loudly than all the other voices!
friend, isn't that amazing news? I pray it's starting to sink into your heart…God has already spoken to you! And He definitely wants to keep doing so!
Today, I'd encourage you to read the various Bible verses mentioned here in your own Bible. There's so much He wants to say to you! :-)
You are a miracle!
