Then Give Me the Pain!

Publication date Nov 1, 2024

I rushed out the door and began to pray: “Jesus, please intervene! I can't bear to see him suffer like this. Give me this pain instead of my nephew. I can't bear to hear him cry like this!’

friend, yesterday I told you how my nephew suddenly started screaming and kept his eyes closed for hours. Those were terrible hours! They caused pain not only to him but also to his mother and to me!

I wanted it to stop so badly! That's why I prayed this heartfelt prayer. I would rather suffer myself and know that my nephew is okay!

friend, Jesus came into the world, and His gaze was fixed on you! He saw what was happening here; He even saw what would happen in this year, and it broke His heart! Because He didn't want you to suffer so much!

I can imagine Him running to God and saying, “Let me do something! I'd rather take on all the pain, I'd rather suffer, than have friend later be crushed by this burden!”

And that's exactly what He did: “He himself bore our sins (everything that causes pain and suffering) in His body on the cross.” (1 Peter 2:24 NIV

Because God, who is love, couldn't respond in any other way than with love: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NIV

friend, all of this has already been accomplished (John 19:30 NIV) . Now I earnestly ask you to see, perceive, and accept this gift.

Seeing, perceiving, and accepting the gift of the cross are the three steps to take away your sorrow!

friend, for you. Yes, for you, and against your sadness, He did this. It's now up to you to see, perceive, and accept this gift in the next moments of intimacy with God.

You are a miracle!
