This will be YOUR change, friend!
Have you ever experienced a drastic change in your life, friend? Whether wanted or unwanted?
Most changes hurt at first. For example, I loved my job as a flight attendant for a renowned Swiss airline (do you remember Crossair?) But a ruptured eardrum brought me, quite literally, back down to earth. I was transferred to an office.
And there, the next big change followed. After the merger of two airlines, there were many layoffs, and I was one of them. I still remember how I shamefully packed up my apartment and moved back in with my parents. It felt like a huge failure on my part.
friend today—yes, today—I am so grateful for that layoff! Because I fear that otherwise, I would never have left that comfortable place where I also earned good money and eventually had a good position. And today, I definitely wouldn't be living out this wonderful mission from God!
Sometimes we have to leave the comfortable place to not miss out on the divine adventure!
I really have to laugh when I imagine what Jonah did back then! He definitely did not want to leave his comfortable place, and therefore ended up in the biggest mess!
When God gave him a mission, it says: "But Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction, to get away from the LORD." (Jonah 1:3 NLT). Haha. That could really be us! God gives us a mission, and we run in the opposite direction, listening to our doubts instead of His words.
Only after being swallowed by a huge fish (what an adventure!) did Jonah understand that God really expected this change from him.
Don't wait until you end up in a dead end, because I think you've already understood God's message today!
friend, do you really want to believe today what you've probably read a thousand times in Romans 8:28? "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28 NIV)
Thank you for your courage.
You are a miracle!
