Ways to give…
A few months ago, A Miracle Every Day held a special giving campaign to help the people of Ukraine. As I mentioned earlier, my wife and I were in Rotterdam at the Jesus.net conference, and we were privileged to hear a Russian pastor who was ministering in Ukraine! Yes, I said that correctly!
Through an interpreter, the pastor told us a story of being apprehended at the border because the border guards believed he was a spy. For ten long hours, he was interrogated and intimidated as he professed to be a pastor, not a spy! When all hope seemed lost, the pastor asked one of the men guarding him if he could pray. The man responded, “Sure” and went back to searching the pastor’s phone.
The pastor cried out to Jesus and asked him to free him and allow him to continue his work in the war-ravaged areas of Ukraine. In just a few minutes, the guard's phone rang and miraculously, “SOMEONE” in authority told him to release the pastor with no restrictions.
The pastor went right back to his ministry, GIVING to the Ukrainian people. When the story was finished, the whole room erupted in praise and thanksgiving! When a call to prayer went out, everyone in the room moved towards the kneeling pastor and fervent and passionate prayers were lifted to heaven for his safety, his mission and his ministry.
The pastor’s story of sacrificial giving and God’s deliverance reminds me that we can ALL give and change someone’s life. God may not call you to minister in war-torn Ukraine, but He may ask you to meet a need right in your own world.
friend, I’d like to challenge you to pray and ask God where He would like you to trust Him and lay your treasures before Him.
Can we pray together today? “Lord, thank You for creating us and building in us a desire to give! I ask today that You would show us where we can serve You and those around us. We want to be a blessing, an instrument You use in the lives of others! In Jesus’ name, amen.”
You are a miracle!
