We don't have time for…distractions
How many hours per day do you spend doing things that don't help you or even really serve a purpose, friend? For example, staring at your smartphone for an hour because you're playing a game, scrolling through Instagram or Facebook, or just aimlessly browsing. Did I catch you? Would you raise your hand and say, "Oh yes, that's me"?
While you're at it, you might still think to yourself that evening, "I'm really proud of myself! I didn't watch a movie, and instead, I'm in bed early!" While you have the smartphone in your hand again…😉
You may say to yourself that all of this isn't really a big deal. At the same time, perhaps you're wondering why so much stress has crept into your life. Maybe you're feeling this deep restlessness, worry about the future, and anxiety about how things will turn out for your family and the world…
friend, do you know what we're subconsciously doing while staring at our smartphones—or whatever our personal distractions of choice may be? We're blocking other things out. And one thing is certain:
WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!
Not only do we not have time for it…we shouldn't have time for it!
You might say, "But why? What's really wrong with being distracted?" friend, not only does distraction pull us away from addressing current needs and concerns—it also diverts us from other possibilities.
Consider this…what amazing things could happen if we were to minimize our distractions and turn our hearts and minds to God instead?
He says to us in His Word, "'Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.'" (Psalm 50:15, NKJV)
Yes, this is what Jesus wants us to do instead of getting distracted! Today, I encourage you to ask yourself: what's your distraction? What could be preventing you from seeing—and therefore experiencing—this divine help?
Don't let your distraction sidetrack you any longer…turn your attention to Jesus instead! He wants to speak to you, answer your questions, and show you a new perspective concerning your future. :-)
You are a miracle!
