What Will Really Matter Today...

"Jesus, please help me not to miss what truly matters this Christmas. Amen."

If you pray this prayer today, and truly mean it, you've already brought great joy to God, friend!

Shall we pause for a moment? Yes, right now. Without thinking about all the things that still need to be prepared for the Christmas season. And without allowing the thought, "But I'll be alone anyway," to creep in.

Because none of that matters if you understand what really matters.

And what matters is what matters to God. What has always mattered to Him is showing you His endless love! At Christmas, we celebrate that He sent His Son into the world. Yes, God became human.

It says, "He gave up all His privileges and took on the status of a servant. He became one of us—a human like other humans." (Philippians 2:7 NLT)

For God, Christmas means: sacrifice out of love. Are you also ready to sacrifice something this time of year? Maybe even sacrifice experiencing the perfect celebration just as you imagined it...?

Because while you hope that everything goes perfectly and that you won’t be disappointed by the celebration coming up, the only One who is truly perfect hopes that you notice Him...

To do that, you must decide not to give power to your emotions ("But I envisioned Christmas differently!"), but instead to notice the One who became human OUT OF LOVE FOR YOU.

Without experiencing perfect plans, you can experience the Perfect One today!

The One who, out of LOVE FOR YOU—not out of love for this earthly celebration—made Himself small so that He could be within your reach.

“All this happened to fulfill what the Lord had said through His prophet: ‘The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel,’ which means ‘God with us.’” (Matthew 1:22-23 NLT) 

friend, your emotions don’t determine what happens. Because God’s love has already decided it!
