What’s wrong with my harvests? 🌾
Are you satisfied with your income, savings, and resources, or are you living paycheck to paycheck? I’m convinced most people are just scraping by. Many are stuck in a poverty rut. Others are dissatisfied with their homes, cars, and bank accounts.
friend, what’s the solution? Should we all work harder? Get lucky with a lottery ticket? Marry into money? Get more education? Look for better jobs? Surely there must be answers to the financial crisis caused by the lockdowns.
Unfortunately, I believe we are not asking the right questions. We should be crying, “What’s wrong with my harvest?” and “What can I do to change my finances?” The Bible says, “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” (2 Corinthians 9:6, NIV) I believe our finances are directly connected to our giving. Every bit of our future harvests is tied to sowing and reaping.
A few years ago, our ministry was facing a financial crisis. I spoke with the members of our leadership team and told them, “We’ve got to give our way out of this financial mess.” Don’t get me wrong—we first reviewed our monthly expenses and made cuts. We froze most spending and prayed like crazy. Nothing seemed to solve our problem, so we upped our giving and saw an amazing series of miracles.
friend, are you seeding into others and the kingdom of God? Are you tithing to your local church? The Bible says, “‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the LORD Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.’” (Malachi 3:10, NIV)
It’s time for you to take a step of faith and consistently seed your time, talents, and resources for the King. Then watch the blessings flow your way because you are a miracle.
