friend, where can you find refuge?
Throughout the Earth, there are, and have always been, pandemics, natural disasters, wars, and rumors of wars...but you have a divine and eternal refuge. For the next several days, we’ll be learning about finding refuge in the Lord and making Him our dwelling place. I pray you’ll receive deep revelation from the scriptures that will minister to your soul.
“Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by.” (the Bible, Psalm 57:1, NKJV) This is such a powerful verse to dwell upon and declare during this time of social distancing and isolation in our communities.
In the midst of these tragic events, God remains God. He is watching over your heart and soul.
God covers you with the wings of His presence and love. When you are near Him, cradled by the beating of His heart, it is well with your soul. (see Psalm 17:8)
friend, in this world where everything changes so rapidly and often with no forewarning, God never changes. He is still God! A refuge, a fortress, and a safe haven. (see Psalm 91:2)
Today, I discovered a worship song that really touched my heart and helped me experience God’s refuge in this storm. I pray it ministers to you, too...“Cover Me” by Terry MacAlmon.
I invite you to pray with me…“My God, You are my refuge forever. I have no fear under the shadow of Your wings. Just as You cover me with Your presence, I pray that You spread Your wings over this hurting world and that it continues to receive Your peace. Thank You for who You are and for everything You’re doing. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
