Who cut you off?

Publication date Dec 19, 2021

Have you ever been cut off on the highway? Yikes! That really drives me a bit crazy. Oh, that’s funny: “It drives me crazy.” My pun was on accident. Oops, I did it again! I’m a pun master. Now back to my question…Has anyone ever cut you off or cut in front of you in a long line? I’m not sure why this ticks me off so much, but it does. What about you?

Sometimes cutting someone off is even more personal. Slander, backbiting, and gossip can make you feel cut off. I’ve known many people who continually cut people off in conversations. They are terrible listeners.

The Bible tells us, “There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.” (Proverbs 23:18, NIV)

friend, it may feel like people are cutting you off or sabotaging your happiness, but don’t give them control. God will give you a future and a hope. Be assured that your hope will not be cut off.

I remember many times when people made hurtful comments or launched attacks against me. But through many hours of counseling and teaching, I learned that I could control my thoughts, feelings, and actions. I couldn’t control theirs, but with God’s help, I could choose peace and blessings.

The Bible promises us that “In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37, NKJV)  Hallelujah!

God will empower you this week to choose hope one more time. Don’t let anyone cut in on you.

Paul the Apostle once confronted an entire church that had lost its way: “You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth?” (Galatians 5:7, NIV)

friend, don’t allow anyone to rob you of your future in Jesus Christ because you are a miracle.
