Will you sow love today, friend ?
I was invited to a dinner recently, but to be honest I didn't really feel like going. Somehow I pulled myself together and before I arrived I sent a message to a very good friend:
"Oh man, I would love to tell people about Jesus today, but the way I look, so broken, so tired, I don't believe they can see any radiance in me."
friend, even if we don't feel like it, Jesus can—through us—lead people to himself!
It didn't take two seconds for the waitress to look at me and say, "You're...". And everyone knew what was coming... Haha. But that was not the case! She didn’t say: "You're Deborah ROSENKRANZ," but, "You're Michael's sister, aren't you?"
She was a former colleague of my brother's! And yes, she had been to one of my concerts, but that wasn't what she remembered. More memorable to her was my brothers and mothers love! They had taken care of HER when she was down. He had taken care of our mother when she was down...and THAT touched this woman!
It was only because people planted love in her life before I was allowed to meet her that I was able to make a connection!
How genuine our faith is can be seen by how genuine our love is!
friend, that evening turned out to be unexpectedly wonderful! Not because I accomplished anything extraordinary, let alone felt like doing it, but because the love that people had sown in advance was allowed to blossom.
And I was allowed to experience what Paul experienced:
“I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power." (1 Corinthians 2:3-4 NIV)
Don't underestimate what God can do even if you don't feel like it today! And even if you don't experience the outcome of “sowing your love” today, it still does make a difference!
You are a miracle!
