Will You Sow Love Today, friend....

I was invited to a dinner recently, but to be honest I didn't really feel like going. Somehow I pulled myself together and before I arrived I sent my girlfriend a message:

"Oh man, I would love to tell people about Jesus, but the way I look today, so broken, so tired, I can barely see God’s radiance in me."

friend, even if we don't feel like it, Jesus can—through us—lead people to Himself!

It didn't take two seconds for the waitress to look at me and say, "You're...". Everyone knew what was coming now... Haha. But that was not the case! She didn’t say: "You're Déborah Rosenkranz," but: "You're Micael's sister, aren't you?"

She was a former colleague of my brother's! Yes, she had been to one of my concerts, but that wasn't what she remembered. Instead, seeing me reminded her of my brother's love, and my mother's love for taking care of her when she was down… THAT touched her!

It was only because people planted love in her life before I was allowed to meet her that I was able to connect meaningfully with her that evening.

The genuine quality of our faith can be gauged by how genuine our love is!

friend, that evening turned out to be unexpectedly wonderful, not because I accomplished anything extraordinary, let alone felt like doing it, but because the love that people had sown in advance was allowed to blossom in this moment.

I was allowed to experience what Paul experienced:

“I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power." (1 Corinthians 2:3-4 NIV) 

Don't underestimate what God can do, even if you don't feel like it today! Even if YOU don't experience what "sowing your love" does today, it may make a huge difference to someone at the right time!
