Winston Churchill was a game changer
Game changers in our broken society are women, men, children, black, white, Latino, Armenian, Hawaiian, Cuban, Taiwanese, Singaporean, and Rwandan. Many times, they’re from the wrong side of the tracks and aren’t from the hallways of wealth and privilege. God is looking for people who will say a big yes to His perfect will.
He’s not looking for people pleasers or power-hungry politicians. He’s not looking for self-centered social influencers or vain celebrities. friend, God is looking for courageous people who will be different, committed, prepared, and obedient, like Deborah. The Bible says, “Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, was judging Israel at that time.” (Judges 4:4, NKJV)
Deborah was an amazing woman who rose to prominence through wisdom, courage, and the ability to hear God. Although she was the only recorded judge who was a woman, this demonstrates a deep truth: God will use any one of us who is willing. God only needs our availability, our big yes. Nothing can stop us from our divine assignments except for us.
Paul asked, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?” (Romans 8:35, NIV) Then he answered, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39, NIV)
I’ve often thought about a famous game changer from our recent past: Winston Churchill. I was able to visit his childhood home and speak in his family chapel. I walked through the bunker where he led England in its toughest war against Hitler’s invading army. I sat in the parliament from which he led a beleaguered country. Churchill was a game changer because he led his nation into an unlikely victory, just like Deborah.
Game changers come from all races and walks of life. friend, will you become a game changer?
Because you are a miracle.
