YOU can give life!
I have never had the opportunity to be a mother. And maybe I never will be. friend, that's a reality for me. It's a reality that can hurt for many reasons. However, in that reality and hurt, there is also another WONDERFUL truth: that God always uses our circumstances for His glory! (see John 8:32)
As a young girl, it was my dream to have a big family! I grew up in a large family and loved every minute of it! I had no other plan than to follow suit and become a mother myself. Lo and behold, many years later, I still have no children and lead a completely different life. I could be hurt and disappointed by my reality and unfulfilled dream, but I trust that I am in the right place because God keeps whispering to me, "I know what I'm doing. I have the final say here." (see Isaiah 55:8)
May I share with you how I know this? After a recent time of ministry, a young man who had his own children came up to me and said, "While you may not have been able to have your own child to give life to, know that through your testimony, you helped many young people here today start a new life." I was so touched by that! How affirming that through my broken but surrendered dream, God is giving hope to others! Through my struggle, I’m able to share new life with others.
Regardless of your hurt, friend, when your life doesn't turn out the way you thought it would, you have the choice to either resign and let pain cripple and disappoint you—or:
You can get up and keep going with God anyway, in faith. You'll experience again and again how miracles happen through you that revive others—and also your heart in the process—again and again!
In all of this, don't forget that it's still possible for God to make the impossible possible, no matter what that may look like. Yes, "He’s GOD, our God, in charge of the whole earth." (Psalm 105:7, MSG)
Today, as we celebrate Mother’s Day, remember that no matter who you are, you can give the joy of new life to anyone and everyone around you. :-)
So today, I'd like to wish all the people who give life to others—in whatever form—a WONDERFUL day!
You're a miracle!
