You find what you’re looking for
I was walking along a beach recently, not really looking for anything in particular. I needed the exercise, and I love to walk. Walking has become part of my daily health regimen. As I walked, I prayed, gave thanks to my God, and worshiped Him with a simple song from my heart. It was an awesome time. Thanksgiving, exercise, and fresh air seemed to clear my head and anxious thoughts. I felt like taking my shoes off to wade in the salty seawater. Wow! I was having a wonderful moment until I looked down and saw dozens of jellyfish.
Have you ever been stung by a jellyfish? I have, and it hurts like crazy. So my glory bubble and great plan were burst by reality. When I looked up, it was glorious, but when I looked down, I felt fear. All of a sudden, I heard the Lord’s voice in my head: “You get what you look for!” I knew that it was God speaking to my brain. I never see angels or hear the audible voice of God, but I’ve learned to “take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5, NIV) The Bible clearly says, “‘My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.’” (John 10:27, NKJV) Hallelujah! I’m His sheep, and I’ve learned to hear His loving voice.
friend, God loves you so much. He wants you to look up. Look for His love, grace, and favor. Miracles are happening everywhere because we’re looking for the hand of God in troubled times. Look for God, and you will find Him. Look up, “‘stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you’” (2 Chronicles 20:17, NKJV). Don’t look down! If you look down, you’ll just see all the jellyfish.
You are a miracle, and God's love for you is unstoppable!
