You will protect me from trouble...
"Yay, the weekend!" Life has gotten busy again with everything opening up, but back in 2020, our "yay" was sometimes half-hearted, wasn't it? With nowhere to go or any social events to attend, for most of us, our "big weekend plans" consisted of staying home. On a positive note, staying home gave us time to read, think, and process. Now that we're busy again, is that still the case for you? Most importantly, friend, do you intentionally spend time getting to know God?
Let’s use our time today to learn a new lesson from zebras. Yesterday we talked about their uniqueness, and today, there's more to unpack! :-)
Did you know that zebras are herd animals and know how dangerous it is to travel alone? You'll never find them without their community.
Right after birth, the baby zebra is completely separated from the herd and only lives with its mother. During this time, the baby zebra gets to know its mama in great detail. It learns to identify her by smell, look, and even sound.
Although the baby zebra can stand by itself fifteen minutes after birth—and even walk an hour later—it first stays with its mother and learns where it really belongs. No zebra will set out into the world without first knowing its source of protection!
friend, do you know with absolute certainty where you can find protection? We talk so often about God being our protector, but have you, like the zebra, spent so much time with God that you are SURE of it? If so, you'll be able to rest in the assurance that you'll be safe when the storms come.
"You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My loving eye on you." (Psalm 32:7-8, NIV)
In these verses, you can see that God loves you. He wants to protect you! You'll grow in assurance of His protection as you spend time with Him. Remember the baby zebra…get to know your Creator before you do anything else! Spend time with Him daily. Get to know His voice, presence, and Spirit!
friend, today would be a great opportunity to spend time with God. There is so much more for you in His presence than you can even imagine!
May your time with Him be sweet!
You're a miracle!
