Your disappointment needs a change of perspective

Publication date Nov 16, 2023

Many years ago when I was a young little girl, my parents were in a musical and I really wanted to be in it too. But they said, "We have no peace about it. There is no one to watch you in the hall, and even though it is "safe" there, we have no peace in our hearts. I'm afraid you won't be able to come with us."

I was really sad and disappointed! All I saw at that moment was, "They want to take something from me. Why is everyone else allowed and I'm not?" I only saw the situation through the filter of my hurt and want.

My parents, who have always made their decisions through prayer, felt unrest in their hearts because God had spoken to them. They always make decisions only after a conscious change of perspective. They do not answer according to a human feeling, but according to a "view from above."

“For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.” (Psalm 36:9 NIV

This restlessness was, at that moment, the light they could see, even if it did not seem like a light, but much more like a disappointment to me.

But that night, the music hall caught on fire and people had to flee the blaze. friend, I was a little girl. I would have been there alone.

The change in perspective allowed my parents to see what people only see when they give their decisions to God!

This experience has accompanied me in my heart for years and reminds me that there are often situations in life that disappoint us at first, but in the long run trigger an astonished: "Oh, that's why...!"

Take your question, your disappointment today and put it in God's light, and you too will experience, "In your light we see light!"

Trust further out than just to your sight, because only in His light do you see the true light!

You are a miracle!
