Are the Gospels reliable?
There will be no end to the debate on whether or not the gospels in the Bible are reliable. But these arguments are often rooted in a desire to prove the Christian faith is false. Looking at the gospels from a purely historian, philological and archeological perspective they gospels actually hold up to the most ridged scrutiny. Even more than other widely accepted text from that time.
The question of the gospels reliability as historical text is not often disputed. The true question is if accepted as the word of God and true.
