Miracles of Jesus

Throughout the Gospels, we see miracles of Jesus - Jesus turning water into wine, Jesus healing the sick, calming storms, walking on water, feeding thousands, and even Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. Every miracle of Jesus points to His divine authority over nature, sickness, and even death itself.

Jesus’ miracles are not random acts of power. They are signs of God’s love and the arrival of His kingdom on earth.

Jesus’ first miracle happened at a wedding at Cana. When the hosts ran out of wine (which was a social disaster), His mother Mary asked Jesus to help. Jesus instructed the servants to fill jars with water, and the water turned into wine.

In The Chosen (Season 1, Episode 5: “The Wedding Gift”), this scene is brought beautifully to life. You can see the joy, surprise, and quiet awe when Jesus turns water into wine. It’s a reminder that Jesus cares about the details of our lives. Even something as simple as a wedding celebration.

Another time, in the middle of a storm, Jesus came to His disciples — walking on the water.

“But Jesus immediately said to them: ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.’”

This story appears in Matthew 14:22–33, Mark 6:45–52, and John 6:16–21.

In The Chosen (Season 3, Episode 8), Peter steps out of the boat to walk toward Jesus, but starts to sink when fear takes over. Jesus reaches out and catches him. It’s a stunning reminder that even when our faith falters, His grace doesn’t.

Another moment on the water shows the disciples in panic as their boat is battered by wind and waves. Jesus is asleep. When they wake Him, He simply says, “Quiet! Be still!”

This miracle (Mark 4:35–41 NIV) shows His authority over nature and His peace in chaos. When life feels like a storm, we can remember: Jesus is in the boat with us.

Healing is one of the most frequent kinds of miracles Jesus performed. He healed the blind, the lame, the lepers, and those tormented by evil spirits. Each healing revealed not only His power but also His compassion.

Every healing story is a glimpse of God’s heart. He restores what is broken, bringing people back into the community, and showing that no one is beyond His touch.

Each miracle is a signpost pointing to who Jesus is: the Son of God, full of compassion and authority. They show that the kingdom of God is near, where sickness, fear, and chaos are replaced by peace and joy.
