Never give up, never surrender

Today, co-writer Paul Marc Goulet wrote the message of “A Miracle Every Day”. I pray his message and audio will bless you today.

“Quitters never win, and winners never quit.”

These are the words of my father. He was a WW2 veteran, a member of the special forces and president of a large corporation. He was the toughest and most stubborn man I ever met, but he was my dad. I will always have massive respect for him. His sayings echo in my mind. Every time I think of quitting or taking the easy way out, I remember his words and his life.

Have you ever quit on a job, a relationship or a calling? I have found this tendency in many people, including myself. I’ve had to fight it with all my heart at times.

Have you fought or given in to the urge to quit?

I’ve looked for examples to inspire me and found that Winston Churchill was such a person. His leadership during the Second World War has become legendary. While London was being bombed, he encouraged the British to keep fighting. He famously said, “I will never surrender.”

I’d like to encourage you to never give up or quit. Lose “I give up” from your vocabulary.

I’d like to encourage you to forget the term surrender. Lose “I give up” from your vocabulary. In the Bible, the Apostle Paul encourages you and me to fix our eyes on Jesus: “the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross…” (Hebrews‬ ‭12:2‬, ‭NASB‬‬)

I believe that your miracle is just beyond your greatest effort. Your breakthrough is just one more day of faithfulness or one more act of kindness. Please make a decision to never quit, and watch God respond in the nick of time.

Winning becomes a habit, and quitting becomes a habit. It’s up to you to choose your habits.

You’re a miracle.

Paul Marc Goulet

Thank you, Paul Marc, for sharing this today!

But don’t we have to surrender our life to Jesus for we can be saved?

    • Inas on 22/05/2020 at 1:34 PM

@Pedro – you are absolutely right that we must surrender our lives to Jesus so we can be saved. I understood this message to be fighting the good fight and never giving up on God’s goodness. He is faithful in His promises, and we are weak and sometimes we feel like He is not hearing us and may give up on our walk with Him. We cannot surrender or quit on our faith. We must keep our focus on the Lord and the Holy Spirit will guide us. The journey can be tough, but our God is faithful.

@ Pedro: Context of Paul’s message is that “we shouldn’t surrender to defeat” but hold on to the promises of God even when the circumstances or our own thoughts maybe wanting to quit because of the difficulties.

When we choose to surrender to Jesus we choose not to surrender to quiting/ giving up. Let’s continue to fight the good fight of faith.

Thank you, Paul for this important message.

Sitting in bed suffering from work anxiety & can’t stop crying. They say God is alive in many ways like through His word. Reading this message this morning is next level of God being so so real. I’m left with no doubt of what to do. God says don’t quit – I will not quit. God says fix your eyes on Jesus – I will fix my eyes on Jesus!!!

Thank you Eric so so much. God bless you into eternity!
