How much do you truly trust?

Can you trust God completely, friend?

It says in the book of Proverbs: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart…" (Proverbs 3:5 NIV)

So, if I'm honest with myself right now, I would immediately say, "Well, I entrust everything to God. 100%. But trusting that He will intervene in my time is not always automatically 100%.” 

The first time I landed in the beautiful country of Brazil, I wanted to jump into the ocean right away! Admittedly, those high waves did give me some respect!

So, I thought for a moment and concluded that the best thing would be to dive deep under the wave. These waves were definitely too high to jump over. While I was diving deep down, doubts overcame me!

I wanted to come back up, but my leg was faster than the rest of my body and was immediately caught by a wave, causing me to do several loops underwater. Gasping for air and with a heart rate of 180, I made it back to shore.

What had happened? My doubts were to blame, the doubts that we so often carry with us in our lives of faith. "What if it's not all true? What if God doesn't love me anymore?"

Then it's time for a second attempt, friend!

I dove under a wave a second time. This time I was determined not to be disturbed and to stay under the wave. To trust that I would be safe there.

And do you know what I experienced amidst the roaring waves? An absolute calm and a peace that overwhelmed me! That's how it is when you trust God completely!

Yes, friend, "trust in the Lord with all your heart!" (Proverbs 3:5 NIV) Then you will experience this unique peace that He also has in store for you. 

"I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid." (John 14:27 NLT)
