Well, I have to admit this—technology is really not my strong suit… haha.

Recently my dishwasher broke, and it was clear I needed a new one—but which one? What size? I had no idea.

So, I picked up the phone and called a well-known retailer: “Hello, I live alone and have no idea about technology. Can you help me?” The man laughed: “That’s what I’m here for.” 😂

friend, at that moment I thought: “We should respond just as simply when people come to us with questions we have the answers to.”There was no pride in his voice, no: “Oh man, I’m really overqualified for such simple questions, any baby would know this.” No, what I heard was: “I want to help you, and it’s okay that you don’t know this.”And what happened after that? Well, I bought a new dishwasher from that retailer, even though money wasn’t exactly flowing freely at the moment. But I felt seen, understood, and valued. 🫶friend, that’s what the love we show to others does. When we meet others where they are, God can then take them oh so far!

When I recently talked to a friend who holds a very high position in his job, he said, “I would have liked to have a small group with my employees, friends, and family.”I hesitantly asked, “But would that have been good in your position? What if they found out too much personal stuff about you?” He laughed: “What could they find out? That I love them even more than it seems?”  ❤️Wonderful! When we truly love everything—yes, really, everything—it will serve the good of us and others!friend, let’s “really love”—no matter who stands in front of us. I pray that the following verse becomes our goal:“Lord, my heart is not proud; my eyes are not haughty. I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. But I have calmed and quieted my soul.” (Psalm 131:1-2 NLT
