Are you lacking peace, friend?

Where are you currently excluding God, friend?
Take a moment to think about it. I find it alarming how quickly we realize that while we can easily say, “I’ll pray about it,” or “I’ll seek God’s will in this matter,” do we really do it?
I’ve been absolutely fascinated—or even shocked—by this brief passage in 2 Chronicles 14 that’s so impactful! It says:
“Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God.” (2 Chronicles 14:2 NIV). “He commanded Judah to seek the Lord … and the kingdom was at peace under him.” (2 Chronicles 14:4-5 NIV)
It’s amazing when God cares for you so much that you can simply lean back and relax! But when a mighty war broke out, King Asa cried out directly to the one who had allowed him to live in peace all those years:
“...O Lord, no one but you can help the powerless against the mighty! Help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in you alone. It is in your name that we have come against this vast horde. O Lord, Lord, you are our God; do not let mere men prevail against you!” (2 Chronicles 14:11 NLT)
And God gave him the victory! Now fast forward, friend. A new war breaks out—but this time, King Asa does NOT turn to God. Instead, he turns to another king! They form an alliance and try to win the war on their own. But they fail!
Why? Why did King Asa suddenly trust a human more than his God? 🤔
Think about it: Before the first war, King Asa lived in PEACE. He acted out of that peace and decided that, when the war came, he would fight WITH GOD.
Could it be that King Asa had become used to his own power and resources after all those years? That he took his success for granted? That he thought, “It’ll look good if the two kings stick together? This will make for great social media photos!” 😉
Oh friend, let’s always remain in peace—to make the right decisions!
Where have you “forgotten” to turn to God?
Today is a wonderful day to change that!
You are a miracle!
