friend, are you lost?

Do you believe everyone goes to heaven? Do you believe there are many saviors of the world? Do you believe we have to earn our way to heaven? Jesus made a wild statement about Himself and the Father: “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”” (John 14:6, NKJV) Isn’t that a bold statement? Jesus defined who He was. These three declarations made a clear assertion:
  1. He is the way.
  2. He is the truth.
  3. He is the life.
Either Jesus was telling the truth, or He was a liar or a lunatic. I believe He was telling the truth. Do you?  Then Jesus makes this last declaration that should offend everyone who doesn’t believe in Christ: “No one comes to the Father except through me.” I was studying philosophy and psychology at the University of Ottawa in Canada. My mind was full of questions about religion, Heaven, hell and God. I studied all the major religions in my search for the truth. The Beatles promoted a more diverse and inclusive pathway to Heaven in their song, “Imagine”. Do you remember these lyrics? “Imagine there’s no Heaven. It's easy if you try. No hell below us, above us only sky.” Oh, I loved that song. What about you?  One day in my search, I heard about a relationship with Jesus. A campus leader read Revelation 3:20 to curious seekers: “‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.’” (Revelation 3:20, NKJV) I decided to invite Christ into my life, but I still had a hundred doubts and questions. Then, I read John 14:6 and decided He was telling the truth. As non-inclusive as it sounded, I still believed it. He changed my life and many more lives through me. friend, let’s put aside all doubts and live like He is the only way. Because He is, and you’re a miracle.
