Are you taking steps of faith, friend?
Are you currently feeling, friend, that God expects you to take steps of faith? Has He put something on your heart that makes you think, "He can't really mean that?"
It's embarrassing to think about how many voices we believe. When the newscaster says, "Today we're going to have typical headache weather," then we're the first to believe that: (a) we're definitely going to have a headache today, and (b) it's caused by the weather.
But when God puts a thought on our hearts that fits with our talents and dreams, we want at least one more proof that this is really the case. We doubt. First of all, we think, what happens if I do this? We crave security.
Yes, we humans often wait to see the big picture before taking that one step God is asking of us right now. We are driven by our fears and doubts, and not by trust in God's possibilities.
As you put off your response to God's voice, you also defer God's action to some other time.
When God said to Abram, “...Go from your country, your family, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you…” (Genesis 12:1 MEV) Abram could have done just that, like he didn't hear anything...or he could have panicked: “What happens if I leave everything that gives me security right now?”
But that’s not what the Bible tells us. It simply says, "So Abram went, as the Lord had told him…” (Genesis 12:4 NIV)
friend, today it is very important to me to be that second confirmation you need to take seriously what God has already spoken to you:
Obey and go on your way, and you will see how many blessings come of it!
Take a moment today to make a decision. It could be life-changing!
I am excited…. this will be WONDERFUL!
You are a miracle!
