Call for help in time of an emergency!

Publication date Sep 27, 2024

Is there something you should be doing right now, but you have no idea how? Maybe it's also that "little sin" you'd like to get rid of,  friend, you're not alone in this! And you don't have to hide or retreat because of it!

As I read through the book of Daniel, I noticed that this man seems  just "perfect." And then I realized why...

When King Nebuchadnezzar couldn't sleep one night because of a disturbing dream, he called his magicians, enchanters, sorcerers, and astrologers (see Daniel 2:1-3 NIV), but they replied:

"...The astrologers answered the king, ‘There is no one on earth who can do what the king asks! No king, however great and mighty, has ever asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or astrologer. What the king asks is too difficult. No one can reveal it to the king except the gods, and they do not live among humans.” (Daniel 2:10-11 NIV)

And maybe you're thinking the exact same thing in your situation, friend: I just can't get control of my little sin, or I just can't handle this challenge. No one in my circle has ever managed it.

And here's where Daniel's reaction comes into play. When he hears about the dream, the Bible says: "At this, Daniel went into the king and asked for time, so that he might interpret the dream for him. Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon." (Daniel 2:16-18 NIV

From this, we learn what to do when faced with something beyond our expertise, friend:

Point 1: Don't react immediately. Give yourself time.(see Luke 10:38-42 NIVPoint 2: Seek prayer support.(see Matthew 18:20 NIV) Point 3: Ask God to reveal what is beyond your expertise.(see Daniel 2:18 NIV

friend, I've said it before, and I'll gladly repeat it until your heart accepts it: What is impossible for humans is still possible for God! What is impossible for YOU is absolutely possible for your God!

Daniel himself wasn't perfect. He just always relied on the grace, care, faithfulness, and help of his perfect God. You can and should do the same today, friend.

Because you are worth everything to Him!  “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NIV

You are a miracle!
