Do you ever compare yourself to others?

Publication date Aug 2, 2025

Today, I just want to show you how weak I can be too. How human. 😉

I was scheduled to speak at a wonderful event—then suddenly, another speaker was added. A young woman who, ironically, looked a lot like me and had a very similar preaching style.

When I found out, I had just woken up, hadn’t spent any time with God yet, and was just… human. And: “Now the works of the flesh are evident: …jealousy.” (Galatians 5:19-20 ESV)

I saw how many followers she had on social media and instantly felt intimidated. Yes, I’ve been there too. 🤷‍♀️

My thoughts started spinning in every direction… and I began to feel insecure—until I shouted “STOP! This is all nonsense. Or rather, it’s all just human!” Yes, it’s true: “Now the works of the flesh are evident: …jealousy.” (Galatians 5:19-20 ESV)

And Paul also says in this passage, “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16 ESV)

In plain terms: “Wake up before you react!”

Let God’s Spirit lead—because He can take that jealousy away! Yes, He can take away your envy and give you clarity instead!

Of course, it’s healthy to ask yourself honest questions sometimes, like: “Could it be that I haven’t been faithfully carrying out the mission God gave me—and now He wants to keep moving forward by sending someone new?” 😬 And then to remember: “Oh right—it’s about people, not about my ego!”

THAT’S when we can see what God may be doing. In my case: He wanted us to stand on that stage TOGETHER—as a TEAM—to witness EVEN GREATER miracles!

This. Right here. This is where God wants to reach your heart! ❤️❤️

God has given EACH of us a unique gift—not to be “better,” but to be FAITHFUL.

And as for comparing ourselves… Let's go ahead and stop that, okay? 😉

Where in your life do you need to let that go—and simply continue being faithful with what God has given YOU?

You are a miracle!
