Do you have a picture of God?
For hours, I stared at that photo and dreamed about how beautiful that moment was! I had been quite in love with an exchange student from France. But all I had left now was this photo that reminded me of him.
Facebook didn't exist at that time, or it wasn't used to look up information about people. You couldn't just go to the internet and get more information about someone. All you had was what you yourself had experienced with that person.
Today you can quickly go to the internet and find pictures of that person. But there's a big difference—you weren't there in those moments. You didn't share those experiences with him/her, and therefore you hang on to the memories or experiences of others.
friend, please be careful that your faith does not become something you simply take from someone else. Experience your own moments with Jesus that you can always think of when you hear His name. Especially in times when you can't see Him and need to draw upon those memories!
Through your own life of faith, you will experience your own miracles!
Think of the many miracles God has done for you. "I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High." (Psalm 9:1-2, NKJV)
David so often praised God in the Psalms he wrote. Worship and praise flowed freely from his life because he had so many personal experiences with God, as this verse expresses: "I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up, and have not let my foes rejoice over me. O LORD my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me." (Psalm 30:1-2, NKJV)
David sought the Lord in the good as well as in the bad times of his life. This was the only way he could get an image of God that was real—a picture not pulled from some internet portal but from his own personal experiences with God. What a great reminder for us as well!
friend, be assured today…God is there even when you don't feel Him. :-)
You're a miracle!
