Are you sleepless these days?

Publication date Oct 1, 2025

“I’m constantly dealing with pain and illness. Isn’t it enough at some point? What is God trying to do with all of this?” 😕

I don’t just get emails like this every now and then—I get them often. And honestly, these are the kinds of questions that leave me without answers too… That’s why I want us to search for answers together—because whatever weighs on your heart matters deeply to me.

For me, the struggle might not be about health. But what I continually face are intense battles surrounding my performances… Really, around EVERYTHING I do in my work for God.

So often I leave in tears, totally exhausted, because once again the enemy managed to throw everything into chaos. And how often I say to my friends: “I get it now—the enemy isn’t happy about this. But can’t he just give it a rest already and stop messing with me?”

Let’s be real, sometimes it just feels like pure ENDURANCE. Just getting through it in any way I can.

And you’re not alone in that. David, the writer of many Psalms, was a man after God’s own heart—and even he cried out:

“How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? (Psalm 13:1-2 NIV)

You’re allowed to cry out. You’re allowed to question. Pain deserves to be spoken.

Of course, we all wish God would just take the pain away. But not just sometimes—MOST OF THE TIME, He works in the MIDST of the pain.

So many times, right in the MIDDLE of my pain, I’ve experienced God more powerfully than ever before. So many times, it’s been BECAUSE of my pain that I’ve been able to be a witness for Him—and THAT, in turn, has strengthened my own faith too!

This isn’t meant to be some “cheap” comfort. I’m only saying this today because I’ve lived it. Because I’ve experienced Him—right in the middle of the battle that keeps showing up in my life.

And this is the decision I’ve made: “But I trust in your unfailing love.” (Psalm 13:5 NIV)

I don’t need to have the answer to my question, because You, Lord, will carry me through this!

You are a miracle!
