Don’t forget to worship!

Publication date Dec 27, 2022

Can you believe that Christmas is already over? I wait with anticipation every single year for Christmas to arrive, and I am always amazed at how quickly it comes and goes. I pray that the true Spirit of Christmas will remain with us each and every day.

The Bible says:

“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”  (2 Corinthians 9:15, NIV)

God gave so generously to us through the gift of His Son. How can we do anything other than worship and give thanks?!

As I close this Christmas reflection with you friend, I want to join you in the miracle of worship. I love to sing, and the songs of Christmas will be ringing in my ears for days to come.  One of the most beautiful Christmas songs comes from Mary. Even though she faced a difficult family situation, pressure from her community, and the wagging tongues of gossip, Mary chose to worship instead of worry. Can you make the same choice? I know you can and will.

Listen to Mary’s worship song from Luke 1:

“My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

for he has been mindful

of the humble state of his servant.

From now on all generations will call me blessed,

for the Mighty One has done great things for me—

holy is his name.

His mercy extends to those who fear him,

from generation to generation.

He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;

he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.

He has brought down rulers from their thrones

but has lifted up the humble.

He has filled the hungry with good things

but has sent the rich away empty.

He has helped his servant Israel,

remembering to be merciful

to Abraham and his descendants forever,

just as he promised our ancestors.”

(Luke 1:45-55, NIV)

friend, God knows you. He is holy. He is mindful of everything that you are facing. God has done great things for you. Holy is His name. His mercy has been extended to you. He knows your humble heart and He loves you. He will fill you with good things and He will never forget His mercy toward you. God has given you great and precious promises and you can count on them, and on Him to come through for you.

Worship Him because He is worthy.

You are a miracle.
