Don't let it distract you, friend.

“If you use this product, your skin will stay wrinkle-free forever”...”If you go to the gym twice a day, you'll look like this too”... “If you stick with this diet, everything will change.”

We've all heard statements like these in advertisements or even from our own mouths, haven't we?

There's always an area that particularly triggers us, friend, and I'm making a big leap now. A leap into the Bible, to the point where Jesus was directly tempted by the devil:

"The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, ‘I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to.” (Luke 4:5-6 NIV

“Just worship me, and it will all be yours.” That’s a bold statement, isn't it? Can I show you something else that's bold, friend, but we often fail to notice?

“If you use this product, your skin will stay wrinkle-free forever”...”If you go to the gym twice a day, you'll look like this too”... ““If you stick with this diet, everything will change…”

Even these things can become a form of worship, keeping us captive to the devil. By having this compulsive urge to change something about ourselves, we give him the space that God wants in order to change something WITHIN US.

We constantly want to change something ABOUT US, when something WITHIN US should be changed.

Do you know how Jesus responded to this temptation or distraction, friend?

"Jesus answered, ‘It is written…“ (Luke 4:4 NIRV)

And that should always be your answer to everything, because it is written: "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." (Psalm 119:105 NIV)

Today, why don't you examine what’s most important: to change something ABOUT YOU or to let God change something WITHIN YOU. Let God's truth—His Word—help you.

You are a miracle!
